ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “Together with France we must inspire Europe in relaunching its model of values and growth through a new ‘industrial regeneration’, which enhances the strength of Made in Europe”. So the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, in an interview with La Tribune. “With Bromo we indicate the way for the birth of European champions able to compete globally. It is also essential to consolidate the industrial sector which, in Italy, includes sixteen industrial districts, four Space Factory realized thanks to the resources of the National Resumption and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and thousands of small enterprises that collaborate with each other and with the large groups. We must integrate and consolidate this technological and industrial heritage on a European scale,” he explains. “We expect the European Commission to recognise the need to promote the emergence of European operators capable of competing on a global scale. The space sector is by its nature borderless, as demonstrated by the capitalization of SpaceX, now comparable to the GDP of large European countries such as Italy and France. Competition is global and comes mainly from the outside of Europe, even more than from its interior.”.
Moreover, “we hope that Bromo will become a model for other European champions in strategic sectors: from digital to drones, from finance to defense, with particular attention to artificial intelligence, new technologies and green technologies. We must recover the competitive delay towards China, which has made us dependent on Beijing,” Urso points out. Italy and France together can “push Europe to better protect our enterprises from unfair competition, introducing new safeguard measures faster and more effective. We must also encourage European production by applying the principle of local content, combining environmental, industrial and social sustainability. Simplification, reduction of bureaucracy, pragmatism and sustainability: we free Europe from ideologies to reaffirm the principle of freedom, which for us also means technological freedom, i.e. technological neutrality “, continues. “We opened the construction site for European reforms, but it is essential to act quickly,” Urso concludes.
