Urso and the Regions: “The plan presented by Elecrolux is unacceptable, we ask for its immediate withdrawal”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “The plan presented by Electrolux is unacceptable. At the table of May 25 at Mimit we will ask the company for its immediate withdrawal“. It is stated by the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, in the meeting with representatives of the Regions headquarters of the Italian establishments of Electrolux. From the meeting a fully shared position emerged between the Government and the Regions: “to defend Italian production capacity, to safeguard employment and reject any decision that jeopardizes the industrial future of the group in our country”.

“We will ask Electrolux for a new industrial plan, on which to start a real confrontation with Government, Regions and Trade Unions, which does not require collective dismissals,” Urso added. “We will not accept choices that affect work, production and supply chains. From the property we expect greater responsibility and a strategy based on investments, innovation and protection of production capacity, on which they are willing to make the most effort with public instruments”.

During the meeting, the market dynamics of the white sector, European policies and commercial protection instruments were also deepened to defend European production from Chinese unfair competition, starting from the revision of the CBAM, absolutely necessary, as well as national measures put in place in these years in support of the sector.

At the meeting, in addition to the undersecretaries Fausta Bergamotto and Mara Bizzotto, the president of the Region Marche Francesco Acquaroli, accompanied by Tiziano Consoli, councillor with delegation to the work, protection and safety of the job; the president of the Region Emilia-Romagna Michele De Pascale, accompanied by Giovanni Paglia, councilor to the housing policies, to the job and to the young people; the Councillor for economic development.
