ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “In the interlocutions with Jindal, the commissioners had already shared that the areas not necessary for steel activities could be immediately made available in the Taranto Table. It is about 170 hectares, 140 of which are already reclaimed, destined to accommodate new investments. To these are added 450 hectares of the Authority of harbour system and beyond 350 hectares of former military areas abandoned or in course of disposal. The Taranto Table can therefore clearly define the framework of the available surfaces and any extraordinary interventions necessary on the authorized front to accompany the investments. At the conclusion of this reconnaissance, the Government will also be able to assess, in agreement with the local authorities, the adoption of a procedure similar to that provided for in Article 13, therefore with the indication of a commissioner, appropriately adapted to the context of Taranto, in order to speed up the authorisation procedures and promote the realization of new investments”. This is what the Minister of Business and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, declared, in the opening of the Taranto Table in progress at Mimit.
“We must necessarily take note of the decision of the Court of Appeal of Milan, which has the closure of the hot area within 90 days, to which extraordinary commissioners must implement. The decision of the Court of Appeal has already been inserted in the date room and therefore to the participants in the competition. In light of the new scenario, Jindal presented an updated proposal on the entire business perimeter, which takes into account the closure of the hot area that the commissioners are evaluating.”.
To the Table are present the president of the Puglia Region, Antonio Decaro, the mayor of Taranto, Piero Bitetti, the mayor of Statte, Fabio Spada, the representatives of the central administrations involved, of Cassa Depositi and Prestiti, Invitalia, of the Authority of Harbour System of the Ionian Sea, of the Agency of the Demanio, of the Consorzio ASI of Taranto, the extraordinary commissioners of ADI and of Ilva in extraordinary administration, interest as well as the enterprises that have manifested territory.
