TORINO (ITALPRESS) – In Italy “there will be no reduction in installed capacity”. Thus Emanuele Cappellano, COO Enlarged Europe of Stellantis, during the round table with the media on the strategic plan FaSTLAne 2030, organized today in the headquarters of Mirafiori in Turin. Chaplain then added that, as regards the units produced in Italy, Stellantis has never officialized as a million cars target and on the current trend he said that “in a substantially stable European market compared to 2025, we expect to have more production than last year”.

“Our CEO will audition in Parliament on 15 June, probably that week before the hearing we will also have a meeting with the unions, we are already organizing it. We are in contact with all the European unions, all the times we have communicated our product news and our investment choices, we have always had a touch point, a moment with the unions. Dialogue with the Government is fruitful and we believe it is fundamental, due to the complexity of the context in which we move and for all the variables that there is fundamental that Stellantis moves in unison with all the stakeholders that means suppliers, dealers, our employees and not least the institutions” added Chaplain.
A MELFI UNA NUOVA VETTURA ALFA ROMEO
“Italy follows exactly these priorities with new models, new platforms and better use of installed capacity. In Melfi arrive three new cars, two this year and one, as soon as we are ready, will be a new Alfa Romeo that was not part of the Italian Plan. Mirafiori goes in continuity with the production of 500 electric and hybrid and with the current production of the EDCT transmission we use for hybrid engines”. “In the first three months of the year in Mirafiori we produced 15 thousand cars, we will see if during the year we will reach the goal of the 100 thousand cars. At this moment we are satisfied with the sales and we are trying to offer our customers a product that is as much as possible to the expectations – added Chaplain – Mirafiori has become a significant pole of circular economy, is a significant pole for our batteries technologies, we are renovating our central building that by 2027 will represent the European headquarters of Stellantis in Europe. At this moment the circular economy is a fundamental activity that is growing as a relevance, there is a production activity of dismantling but also a sales and marketing activity. Batteries are now, especially from the point of view of research and development, a fundamental asset looking at the future.”.
50 NUOVI LANCI DA QUI FINO AL 2030
“Stellantis has based its strategy in Europe on three strategic points. The extension of market coverage by 25% through 50 launches from now until 2030, of which 25 new products and 25 existing product innovations. The introduction of new platforms and a better use of production facilities that will bring total use to 80% of the installed capacity,” said Chaplain.
E-CAR PRODOTTE A POMIGLIANO ENTRO IL 2028
“The E-Cars will enter production in Pomigliano by 2028, it is an ambitious goal and we are working for this, we will give news as soon as possible.” On alliances with Chinese groups, Chaplain says that “they are complementary to the development plan of Stellantis in Europe, they offer opportunities to have new opportunities for distribution of complementary models compared to the line-up of Stellantis, they offer the opportunity to better use our production facilities and to be able to develop projects together.”.
