ROMA (ITALPRESS) – FIGEC and USPI have opened the negotiation for the renewal of the National Collective Agreement of Journalism (CNEL G02F code) for the quadriennium 2026-2029. The delegations, formed by the Secretary-General and the Chairman of the FIGEC Journalists’ Trade Union, Carlo Parisi and Lorenzo Del Boca, and by the Secretary and Deputy Secretary-General of the Italian Periodic Press Union, Francesco Saverio Vetere and Sara Cipriani, met in Rome beginning to discuss the proposals for development of the Contract, starting from wage adjustments, improvements in the regulatory part and a greater attention to the national information publications. That’s what you read in a note.
The USPI Secretary-General, Francesco Saverio Vetere, states that “with contractual renewal, USPI intends to consolidate the objectives achieved, starting from the first draft of the Protocol in 2020: certainty of contractual relations, sustainability for companies and maximum protection of workers’ rights in the areas covered by CCNL”.
“From 1 January 2023 – recalls Parisi – FIGEC and USPI, thanks to the national collective agreement of journalistic work and to the agreement on self-employment (which is even better than FIEG-FNSI) have, instead, given dignity and future to thousands of journalists who, otherwise, would have been forced to work at VAT, with deemed to agree or refund expenses in companies that, in almost all cases, could not apply for obvious reasons of economic compatibility. Without forgetting that, in the larger publications, pay levels are greater thanks to the second level contraction and corporate welfare”.
The dialogue and constructive attitude of the parties is well hoped for in a quick solution to the conclusion of the negotiation that previews from the next meeting the presentation of the respective contractual renewal platforms that will pass to the vaglio of the competent bodies of FIGEC and USPI. It should be pointed out, the note concludes, that “no company with FIGEC-USPI contract has ever made use of social shock absorbers, which do away with wages and are financed with public money, or enjoyed contributions from the Department for Information and Editorial of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers”.
