Inps, in 2025 positive balance of 16,8 billion

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – In 2025 the balance of financial management of the Inps rises to 16,8 billion euros, the profit of exercise reaches 4,5 billion and the net assets makes a leap from 35,3 to almost 43 billion. This is what emerges from the General Rendiconto approved by the Council of Address and Vigilance.

A total of 571 billion euros have passed from the institute’s coffers. Of these, 294 billion come from contributions paid by workers and enterprises, increased by 3.6% compared to the previous year, while another 165 billion come from general taxation. On the front of the exits, however, the overall check is 554 billion.

For the president of the Board of Address and Supervisory of the Inps, Roberto Ghiselli, the budget certifies an important factor: the Italian social security system continues to maintain a financial balance, despite the ageing of the population and the continuous tensions on the public accounts. A message that comes at a time when the issue of sustainability of pensions periodically returns to the centre of the debate.

Pension spending continues to grow, but it does so at a much lower rate than most people feared. In 2025 it increased by 1.4% and reached 325 billion euros. It is a physiological growth, linked both to the increase in the number of pensioners and to the revaluation of allowances.

More dynamic, on the other hand, expenditure on income support. Social shock absorbers, from unemployment to the integration fund, absorb approximately 800 million euros more than the previous year. Social inclusion resources are also growing. The inclusion allowance, which took the place of the Citizenship Revenue, together with the support for training and work, pushes the overall expenditure of another 2.4 billion. A further billion is added to these benefits.
