ROMA (ITALPRESS) – In the second quarter of 2026 Istat estimates that gross domestic product (Pil) grew by 0.2% compared to the previous quarter and 1% on an annual basis. The second quarter of 2026 had the same number of working days compared to the previous quarter and a working day more than the second quarter of 2025.
The economic change is the synthesis of an increase in value added in the service sector and a decrease in agriculture and industry. On the question side, there is a positive contribution from the national component to the gross of stocks and a negative contribution from the net foreign component. The change acquired for 2026, correct for the calendar effects, is 0.8%. The 2026 has 3 more working days than the 2025.
“On the side of the offer, the economic growth is driven by the tertiary sector, while there are fluctuations in the added value of agriculture and industry. On the question side, there is a negative contribution from the net foreign component to which a more marked positive contribution of domestic demand to the gross of stocks is associated,” explains Istat.
