It’s the first party in the polls, it’s wrong who thinks it’s just an east party.” Thus Paolo Gentiloni, former European Commissioner for Economic and Monetary Affairs and President of the Council, in an interview with Milano Finanza. “We will see in ten days what will happen in Berlin and especially in Mecklenburg,” he continues. “There is great attention at European level, because it is beginning an electoral cycle that will involve half of European citizens from here to next year with sovereigns and nationalists of various kinds who face the political scene, from Poland to France and Spain to end with Italy,” he said. “The Union must prepare answers that go in two directions. The first is very political, it is not necessary to pursue nationalist extremism on its ground. There is a strong European majority in the European Parliament.
