GENOVA (ITALPRESS) – Portofino returns to the center of political, economic and cultural comparison with the second edition of “Portofino Talks – A square on the world“, organized by Philia Associates together with the Municipality of Portofino, scheduled on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th September on the pier of the most famous and photographed Piazzetta of the world.
Two days of meetings, interviews and round tables dedicated to the main challenges facing Italy and Europe: economic growth, reforms, health, energy, infrastructure, tourism, transport, technology, artificial intelligence, security, climate change, political communication, sport and public administration. The event will bring together representatives of the Government, representatives of national and regional institutions, local administrators, entrepreneurs, managers, journalists and protagonists of the world of culture and sport. An open confrontation on the present and future of the country, hosted in one of the most famous and representative places in Italy in the world.
“The will is to offer businesses and politics an open and constructive dialogue space, to create opportunities for mutual knowledge and growth – says Giovanni Toti, partner of Philia Associates. That system that too often lacks to team up and compete in the world.” To open the day on Friday will be the institutional greetings of the representatives of Liguria Region and Municipality of Portofino, together with those of the Chambers of Commerce and ENIT. Among the first appointments, interviews to MEP Giorgio Gori, dedicated to Europe and reforms, and to Ornella Barra, Chairman of the Board of Directors of The Boots Group, on the challenge of health in a changing world. Health and relationship between the public and private will be at the center of a panel to which will participate, among others, Mariastella Gelmini, Federico Patrone, Francesco Berti Riboli, Andrea Pezzi and Massimiliano Dalla Via. The Minister of Economy and Finance Giancarlo Giorgetti will take part instead on the issue of economic growth in a complex international context.
In the afternoon the comparison will focus on energy, with the participation of Fabrizio Fabbri, managing director of Ansaldo Energia, Riccardo Toto, director general of Renexia, Marco Realfonzo, managing director of Optima Italia, and Pasqualino Monti, managing director of Terna. To follow, the dialogue on the role of the Regions with the presidents Attilio Fontana and Eugenio Giani, the interview with the president of CNEL Renato Brunetta and the interview with Antonio Gozzi, vice president of Confindustria. Tourism, real estate market, maritime and air transport will precede the presentation of the book “Silvio ci misschi”, with Patrick Falo, Paolo Liguori and Claudio Scajola, already national coordinator of Forza Italia and creator of the party’s entry into the European People’s Party. Space then to sport with Giovanni Malagò, Massimo Sessa and Minister Andrea Abodi. To close the first day of Portofino Talks will be the interview with the Minister for Public Administration Paolo Zangrillo.

One of the novelties of the second edition will be the Portofino Talks Village, an exclusive space adjacent to the stage, in the heart of the village, thought as a real backstage of the event and as a meeting place between companies, guests and protagonists of the Talks. Open throughout the day, from morning breakfast to evening DJ, the Village will host dedicated spaces and temporary stores where partners can present their products, organize tastings and entertainment moments. An environment designed to promote relationships and networking opportunities and offer companies a further opportunity of visibility within the event.
The Village will thus become a natural extension of the Piazzetta: not only an exhibition space, but a place where enterprises, institutions, stakeholders and guests can meet and build relationships during the two days. In the Village there will also be a digital serigraph of Leonardo da Vinci’s Scapigliata. A digital work by Cinello, a benefit company that has digitized and patented the masterpieces in DAW format (Digital Art Work) in collaboration with the most important Italian and international museums. During the two evenings of the event also Castello Brown, which dominates the Piazzetta and the village of Portofino, will enter the stage of the Portofino Talks: through dedicated projections, the monument will become a visual fifth of the event, strengthening the link between the event, its partners and one of the most recognizable Italian landscapes in the world.
The second day, Saturday 19 September, will open with a panel on the management of climate change and hydrogeological dissect. There will be further information on infrastructure investments, air transport and large yards, with the participation, among others, of Deputy Minister Edoardo Rixi, of the leader of Noi Moderati Maurizio Lupi, of the president of the Piedmont Region Alberto Cirio, of the managing director of ITA Airways Joerg Eberhart and of the new extraordinary commissioner of ENAC Carlo Mearelli. The president of the Senate Ignazio The Russian will be interviewed on the relationship between institutions, development, growth and democracy. In the afternoon the MEP Letizia Moratti and the Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi will take part. The Minister of the University and Research Anna Maria Bernini and Professor Matteo Bassetti will discuss the training needed to grow, while a significant part of the work will be dedicated to supplementary health welfare, technological sovereignty, artificial intelligence and Italian models of innovation.
I also open to political communication in the election campaign, with a discussion organized by the Italian Journalist Association and moderated by President Paola Ferazzoli, who will dialogue with Minister Eugenia Roccella. The president of the Liguria Region Marco Bucci, who will intervene on the challenges of growth of the region that hosts the event. To close Portofino Talks 2026 will be the “CHI Moment”, realized with the director of Chi Massimo Borgnis and dedicated to a tribute to Gino Paoli. During the evening the Portofino Award will be presented to the family of Gino Paoli, in the presence of his wife Paola, son Nicolò and daughter Amanda Sandrelli, in a moderate meeting by Professor Margherita Rubino. A moment dedicated to music, memory and the deep bond of the artist with Liguria, accompanied to the piano by master Andrea Bacchetti.
