ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “The Cdm has renewed the cut of the excise until 5 September, thus containing the cost of the fuel also during the great return from the holidays. Then, we will evaluate how to intervene even with targeted measures.” These are the words of Adolfo Urso, Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy, in an interview on Avvenire. “We strongly ask the European Commission to review the infernal mechanism of Ets, which for its distortions weighs in particular on our country and ends up penalizing the competitiveness of our companies. It is a priority to build a real single energy market, which allows European companies to produce at competitive costs and fair competition conditions compared to our international partners. The environmental transition cannot be translated into deindustrialization of Europe.”.
As for a decree to speed up AI and the development of robots in Urso industry says: “I think it is necessary to face this challenge with a cultural and political vision that will take you the social system that has developed on our continent. We cannot pretend that the problem does not exist, waiting for China to submerge us with humanoids. We have in Italy the skills to develop our technological and productive model alternative to the Asian one, also on the welfare level. We are already among the European leaders in robotics and we can become protagonists in the new field of humanoids.”.
In 2024 Urso had defined a “reachable” objective to produce “one million cars” in Italy: “The goal of a million vehicles in 2030 is still reachable, if Europe will finally listen to us, completing the review process we have indicated. Stellantis is on the right track, as shows the growth in the first half of Italian production, increased by 13.7%, with cars at +27.7%. He understood before others that it was necessary to abandon the religion of the electrician to provide the market products more in tune with the expectations of consumers. Other European car manufacturers are still in the middle of the ford: they announce closures of plants and dismissals of tens of thousands of workers. In order to support this, the two principles of technological neutrality and “made in Europe” must prevail in Europe. A second car manufacturer? I think that this goal will also be achieved, with a clear warning to all: welcome those who produce with Italian components in compliance with the new rules of ‘made in Europe’.
Finally on Electrolux that announced 1,700 esuberi: “We asked the company to present a new industrial plan that aims at relaunching production and safeguarding workers. If this happens, we will support it with appropriate measures, even extraordinary.”.
As for the Zes: “The unique Zes of the Mezzogiorno was a great success that helped accelerate investments with immediate employment benefits. The results achieved are such that many Regions have shown interest in a possible extension of the model also in the North. The case of Sardinia shows that controls work: when a project no longer meets the legal requirements, the authorization is revoked. Similar instruments can also be used for the acceleration of authorization for other regions, which is then the first demand for enterprises. However, it cannot be given the same intensity of public incentives because the European rules on State aid do not allow it. In any case, we are already working with the Regions to identify the ‘industrial acceleration areas’ provided for in the new Industrial Accelerator Act, by approval, where specific interventions can be configured in some strategic sectors, including in the car sector as well as green technology and steel industry.”.
