MILAN (ITALPRESS) – UniCredit notes that, following the public offer of voluntary purchase on Commerzbank, representative shares of 17.60% of the share capital of Commerzbank were added, “a result far beyond the initial expectations.”.
This share, added to the participation held directly, pairs to 26,77%, and the financial instruments that confer the right to request physical delivery of a share of 3.22%, brings the total position of UniCredit to 47,59% of the capital of Commerzbank.
The position of 47,59% corresponds to 49,65% of Commerzbank’s voting rights, since its own shares do not confer voting rights. However, the percentage will rise to this level once Commerzbank has canceled its own shares, which the bank has committed itself.
“The conclusion of the periods of public offer of purchase is a further step forward in the implementation of the strategic investment of UniCredit in Commerzbank – concludes the note -. UniCredit will continue to look for a constructive dialogue with all stakeholders, while at the same time continuing the necessary regulatory and authorisations related to its investment.” ,
