MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Money does not make happiness: we are accustomed to saying it and thinking it, certainly with foundation, compared to values and higher goods such as health first. The management of the heritage, however, contributes to the serenity and general well-being of the individual: taking care of the inheritance, the family business and the savings means also committing to transmitting values, memory and sense of belonging. From economic management the circle then closes with the emotional and relational aspect, avoiding uncertainties, tensions and legal causes.
“The notary is an official public, close to people’s lives in crucial moments such as buying the first home, starting an economic activity, marriage, succession, end of life: in a way it deals with the wealth of people, taking charge of their problems and aiming to solve them,” said the notary Paola Casali, interviewed by Marco Klinger for Top Medicine, agency’s TV format.
The work of a notary, says Casali, has to do in particular with the scarcity of people, “especially in a country like Italy that lives it in a particular way: who has to do will has a certain fear, because he thinks at the moment when there will be no more, but once this theme is exceeded he goes to planning; there comes a new fear, linked to not want to leave problems to his heirs in advance and solve them”.
At the base of a serene life and a harmonious family, he adds, there is “sharing: making decisions on the asset arrangement, today or in anticipation of a generational passage, it is very important because the motivations of certain choices are explained that could no longer be explained at the time when that person should not be there: our task is to make so that those who leave from our dorma studies can sleep peacefully, so that their sleep and so many others.”.
In case of planning not timely, according to Casali, the most frequent risks “are often long and lacerant battles, with a development of the value of the patrimony as if this is immobilized is in no way manageable: when there are divergent interests you do not create any well-being. When the threshold of a notary study is crossed, it is as if you enter a confessional: to decide the solution to be taken together with the notary it is important to be fully honest and to bare their vulnerabilities.”.
The notary then closes with the story of a personal experience still imprinted in his memory: “ Among the many things that happened to me there was, once, the reading in a will the recognition of a natural son: in particular it was a daughter had in a distant country, as well as the only person left to this gentleman who then recognized her as his daughter and on the occasion left her all the heritage. There are many points in common between the doctor’s work and the notary’s work: we need to get in tune with people and understand their needs to give life to their projects.”.
