Tajani “Defend peace in the world, wars must cease”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “We must defend peace in the world. From the borders of Europe to the forgotten wars in Africa and the Middle East, where the slaughters of the civilian populations must cease, that nothing has to do with the wars, and precisely because our freedom and our democracy are based on the blood of the victims of Sant’Anna, Marzabotto, of the many Italian places linked by the thread of a sad pilgrimage of memory”. This was said by the vice-premier and foreign minister, Antonio Tajani, speaking from Sant’Anna di Stazzema. “This is a sacred freedom, a sacred democracy, which must be protected because they are a great common heritage of our nation. So much innocent blood was shed in these Tuscan lands,” he added. “We do not reassign ourselves, we do not want to resign because in the end wars must cease. We cannot, of course, change human nature but we can all work together, beyond political divisions, to build reality where there is, always and anyway, respect for the dignity of the person, respect and defense of a principle that is the basis of our civil coexistence, freedom because every man is born free and has the right to live free” concluded Tajani.
