Stellantis, Filosa “We value new possibilities for Mirafiori, here is the plan for Italy and Europe”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “At Mirafiori this year we doubled production compared to last year. But we want to do more and we are thinking about a series of possibilities.” This was said by Antonio Filosa, CEO of Stellantis, interviewed by MF-Milano Finanza and Class CNBC, about the possibility of producing another model in the Turin plant, as well as the Fiat 500 electric and hybrid.

Among the new products, Filosa anticipates the return of Citroën 2CV, planned in production in a couple of years. It will be born on the E-car platform, called “electrical, economic and European”, will be realized entirely in Europe and will have a price “around fifteen thousand euros”. “Our goal is not to close factories, despite volumes being challenging,” he says, explaining that partners must contribute to the use of plants. Stellantis intends to implement collaborations with Leapmotor and Dongfeng.

Talks with Jaguar Land Rover have also been started for the already announced partnership in the United States, with possible trade, engineering synergies and purchases.

For Maserati, Filosa confirms the presentation of the new plan at the end of the year in Modena: “I’m sure it will be a plan that will receive a very positive reaction.”.

In the interview, he does not anticipate details about the Chinese partners of the Trident. On the financial front, he explains to the newspaper, the priorities are to respect guidance 2026, to have a positive free cash flow in 2027 and to reach three billion euro cash generation in 2028. “Our task is to act. This means increasing sales, improving profitability and generating liquidity,” said Filosa. Constancy in the execution of these priorities, he adds, can allow to rebuild confidence in Stellantis. In Italy, the figure indicates a growth in the production of “just under 30% in the first nine months of the year” and confirms the implementation of the Italian Plan. The institutions call for support for Made in Europe and fair competition conditions for those investing in engineering, production, suppliers and European employment, together with greater flexibility on CO2 targets, especially for commercial vehicles.
