Primark, 10 years in Italy and an investment of 22 mln to open 3 new stores

MILANO (ITALPRESS) – Primark, international fashion retailer, scores 10 years of presence in Italy with the announcement of a new investment of 22 million euros for the opening of three new shops and the creation of 300 new jobs, as part of its continuous expansion in the Bel Paese.The new stores will be located in Cremona (Centro Commerciale Cremona Pò), Ancona (Grotte Center) and Gorizia (Tiare Shopping centre). Currently, Primark operates with 20 shops throughout Italy and employs over 5,000 people. The three new stores, together with the five recently announced that will open in Naples (two stores), Rome, Parma and Genoa, will bring the network of Primark in Italy to a total of 28 stores in the coming years. Primark arrived in Italy in 2016 with his first shop at Il Centro di Arese, inaugurated with a team of 390 colleagues. Only eight months later he opened the second point of sale in Brescia, confirming the strong response of Italian customers, thus starting a rapid expansion in the country. Since then, Primark has continued on its path of growth, opening its regional headquarters and the flagship store of Via Torino in Milan in 2022.In support of this new phase of growth, Primark is proceeding with the realization of its first logistic pole in Italy. Located in Alexandria, the pole will create more than 200 jobs and will support the network of shops expanding across the national territory. In collaboration with the SEGRO partner, the completion of the work is planned for the end of November 2026 with the entry into operation in 2027. The logistic pole was designed taking into account the highest environmental standards, strengthening Primark’s commitment to responsible growth. Aware of the important role that retail plays in people’s lives, Primark continues to invest in the communities in which he works. This year, Primark will support Special Olympics through the donation of 3,000 shirts to be used as official uniforms during the National Games and also World Championships scheduled for 2027. In the context of his social commitment, Primark collaborates with specialized partners including UN Refugee Agency, Special Olympics, Second Chance and Adecco Foundation to break down barriers and create retail routes for people who might encounter greater challenges in the world of work.
