ROMA (ITALPRESS) – ITA Airways welcomes Deutsche Lufthansa AG’s decision to acquire an additional 49% of the Company’s capital, worth 325 million euros, thus holding 90% of ITA Airways. The Ministry of Economy and Finance will keep the remaining 10% of the capital. The completion of the operation is expected in the first quarter of 2027, following the approval of the competent authorities, including the European Commission and the U.S. Department of Justice. This further step represents a significant step in the development of ITA Airways and confirms the value of the industrial project built in recent years. The Company is preparing to enter a new phase of its growth within the Lufthansa Group, improving its position in the European and international air transport market. ITA Airways will continue to operate with its brand, which will be maintained and valued within the Group structure. Today the ITA Airways brand represents a young, distinctive and recognizable identity, strongly linked to Italy and to the values of quality, innovation, reliability and attention to the customer that characterize the Company. The ever-increasing integration in the Lufthansa Group will enable ITA Airways to develop further industrial and commercial synergies with Group carriers while preserving its Italian identity.
