ROMA (ITALPRESS) – In June, according to Istat data, the prices for the production of the industry record a change on a monthly basis and grow by 5.8% on an annual basis (was +7.3% in May). On the internal market prices remain stable compared to May and slow their growth on an annual basis (+6.8%, from +9.1% of the previous month). Net of the energy sector, instead, prices record a conjunctural increase of 0.3% and a tendential increase in slightly acceleration (+2.9%, from +2.5% of May). On the foreign market prices increase by 0.1% on a monthly basis (+0.3% euro area, -0.1% non euro area) and 3.1% on an annual basis (+3.4% euro area, +2.8% non euro area). In the second trimester, compared to the previous, the prices to the production of the industry grow by 2.9% (+3.4% internal market, +1.7% foreign market). In June, among the manufacturing activities, the major increases on the internal market concern coke and petroleum products refined (+42.2%), chemicals (+8.0%) and metallurgy and manufacture of metal products, excluding machines and plants (+6.6%).
On the foreign market, the increments on a more marked annual basis are recorded for coke and refined petroleum products (+18.1% non euro area), other manufacturing industries, repair and installation of machines and equipment (+7.1% euro area, +8.9% non euro area), chemicals (+7.5% euro area) and metallurgy and manufacture of metal products, excluding machines and plants (+6.3% euro area, +5.6% non euro area). On the internal market, the tendential growth of electricity and gas supply prices slows down (+8.9%, from +12,6% of May). In June, construction prices for residential and non-residential buildings grow by 0.1% on a monthly basis and by 2.8% on a yearly basis (from +2.5% of May); those of Roads and Railways decrease by 0.6% in terms of economic activity and grow by 3.4% in tendential terms (was +3.9% in May). In the second quarter of 2026, compared to the previous, the prices of residential and non-residential buildings grow by 1.5%, those of Roads and Railways by 2.7%.
