In June the public debt rose to 3.207.2 billion

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Last June, according to the data of the Bank of Italy, the debt of public administrations increased by 26.2 billion compared to the previous month, resulting in an amount of 3.207.2 billion. The increase reflects the needs of public administrations (13.3 billion), the growth of treasury liquid availability (9.8 billion, 61.7), as well as the impact of discards and premiums for issue and refund, the revaluation of inflation indexed securities and exchange rate change (3.1 billion). With reference to the breakdown by subsectors, the change in debt is attributable to that of the central administrations (26.9 billion), partly offset by the decrease in the debt of the local administrations (0.7 billion). The residual average life remained stable at 7.9 years. The share of the debt held by the Bank of Italy continued to decrease, placing itself at 16.7% (from 17.2 of the previous month), while in May (last month for which this data is available) that held by non-residents had increased to 35.9% (from 35.7 of the previous month) and that held by other residents (mainly families and non-financial enterprises) fell to 14.5% (from 14.7 percent of the previous month).
