RON (ITALPRESS) – The Council of Ministers, on a proposal from President Giorgia Meloni, of the Minister of Economy and Finance Giancarlo Giorgetti, of the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Matteo Salvini, of the Minister of Enterprises and of Made in Italy Adolfo Urso, of the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests Francesco Lollobrigida, of the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security Gilberto Pichetto Fratin “The measure – explains Palazzo Chigi in the note diffused after the Cdm – repeases the rates of excise on gasoline, diesel, GPL and natural gas used as fuels, as well as on HVO and biodiesel fuels, for the period from 23 May to 6 June 2026, confirming the reductions already applied previously: about 5 cents per liter for gasoline and 20 cents per liter for diesel.” It is extended to the month of June 2026 the tax credit in favor of the road haulage for the greater costs of fuel supported in the period March-June 2026, “with a limit of total expenditure of 300 million euros, inclusive of the 100 million euros already allocated to the same end from the decree-law n. 33 of 2026”.
A tax credit is introduced, up to 30 per cent of the expenditure incurred, for the purchase of agricultural fertilizers in the months of March, April and May 2026, in the maximum limit of 40 million euros, granted in compliance with the Temporary Framework on State aid adopted by the European Commission on 29 April 2026 in response to the crisis in the Middle East. “It is also expanded the agenda for the purchase of oil in agriculture, with a total budget of 90 million euros, including 30 million euros already allocated to the same end by previous measures – continues Palazzo Chigi –. The National Fund for Local Public Transport has increased by EUR 80 million annually from 2026 to finance the contract renewal of the sector. Persons applying synthetic tax-reliability indices (ISA) and tax-payers in a forfeit and advantage scheme shall be granted the possibility of making tax payments expiry on 30 June 2026 by 20 July 2026 without any increase. The payment may also be made within the next thirty days (19 August) with an increase of 0.8% due to paid interest.”

The deadline for the formation of the agreed silence on tax credits for transporters is reduced: from 1 October 2026, the new term is 30 days, instead of 60 days, with presentation exclusively by telematic means.
The Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy is authorised to provide an additional cost of up to 100 million euros in favor of Acciaierie d’Italia S.p.A. in extraordinary administration, “to preserve the functionality of steel plants in the context of the ongoing process of disposal. Subscription of the Agreement with the International Monetary Fund for the establishment in Rome of the Technical Assistance Centre called the South East European Technical Assistance Center (SEETAC) is authorised.
