ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “On the occasion of the 165th anniversary of the constitution of the Italian Army, I address to all the military of the Army the appreciation of the institutions for the constant and precious work carried out at the service of the Italian Republic, which reaches in this age the eighty years from the solemn referendum decision. In addressing a deferring tribute to the memory of those who sacrificed their lives in fulfilling their duty, I recall that the professionalism and dedication of women and men of armed forces are a fundamental pillar for the security of our community and the affirmation of the values of the Constitution, in the vast international context in which the life of our state is inserted.” Thus the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, in a message sent to the Chief of Staff of the Army, General Carmine Masiello.
“The Italian armed forces, at this time overwhelmed, are an important step in the development of a proper European defence tool, contributing to prevail the reasons of international law and respect for multilateral institutions on the claim of force,” adds Mattarella.
“The serious tightening and enlargement of the conflicts in place confirms to the Italian Army a primary role in safeguarding the independence of the country and the values of peace and stability. Official, sub-official, graduated, military of troops and civilian personnel of the Army, on this day of celebration, all of you and your families reach the most cordial greeting and feelings of gratitude of the Italian people. Live the Army, live the armed forces, live the Republic”, concludes the head of the state.
