Damiano David and Dove Cameron started the practice of getting married. Their marriage publications appeared on the prehistorical register of the Municipality of Rome on 15 July and were exhibited until 22. The document, identified and published by the weekly Chi, contains the personal data of the Roman singer and American actress and singer. The couple had announced the engagement in early January, without indicating when and where the ceremony would take place.
Publications are used to verify that future spouses have the requirements of the law and to allow any opposition from those who are aware of impediments. In Rome they remain online for eight days and have a validity of 180 days. The procedure therefore confirms that David and Cameron intend to marry in the coming months, but does not provide information on the ceremony. The fact that the practices were presented in the capital does not mean that marriage should be celebrated there.
According to Chi, the wedding will be held in Italy. Vanity Fair talked about the end of September and a possible location in Tuscany, two details that the couple did not confirm. Publications are currently the only official element that emerged after the engagement announcement.
David, 27 years old, is the singer of Måneskin and from 2024 he also carries on a solo career. Cameron, 30 years old, became known with the Disney Liv and Maddie and Descendants productions, and then devoted to music: in 2022 he gained a great international success with the song Boyfriend.
They met for the first time at the MTV Video Music Awards of 2022, where both were candidates as best new artists. The report began a year later. Cameron told in the podcast Call Her Daddy that during the first meeting David addressed her just the word and even seemed hostile. The VMAs of 2023 came again, this time in different personal conditions. David invited her to the Måneskin concert at Madison Square Garden and soon afterwards they began to attend.
The first indiscretions on the relationship circulated just after that concert. In the following months Cameron followed some dates of the Måneskin tour and the two were photographed together in Australia and Los Angeles. The confirmation came in February 2024, when they participated as a couple at the gala organized by producer Clive Davis before the Grammy Awards.
David made the proposal in October 2025, the same month when the couple celebrated the second anniversary. Cameron then wrote that those had been “the two most beautiful years” of his life and that he moved at least once a week thinking about how much he improved with David at his side. The exact day of the proposal was not made public, so it is not known if it coincided with the anniversary.
Cameron told the circumstances in January during Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show. The two were at home and they were packing for a trip. She just showered, she was wearing a big shirt, and she wasn’t wearing makeup. When he saw David stop looking at her, he realized what was going to happen and ran into another room wondering if he had to fix his nails first.
David intentionally chose a domestic moment. She explained that their life was already full of public events and that she wanted to ask her to marry him in the shared house, between the laundry, the dishes and meals prepared together. The proposal dates back to October, while the announcement arrived on January 3 with some photographs taken during a New Year’s trip.
With the publications of Rome, the marriage project has also become an administrative practice. They remain to be known the day, the place and the type of ceremony: the couple, so far, has not communicated them.
