ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Graziano Marcovecchio is the new president of CoReVe. The new cda, appointed by the assembly of the consortia, elected him to lead the consortium for the next three years. Manager of long experience in the glass industry, Marcovecchio brings a deep knowledge of industry and industry.
Entered Pilkington in 1989, he held positions of increasing responsibility until he assumed, in 2012, the presidency of Pilkington Italy, which he still holds. Since 2018 he has also led Assovetro, for two mandates. The appointment comes in an important phase for the Italian chain of glass recycling.
In 2025, the recycling rate of glass packaging reached 82.1%, up from 80.3% of 2024 and over seven percentages above the 75% target set by the European Union for 2030. A result that confirms Italy on the European podium and the solidity of the national chain.
“82.1% achieved in 2025 is an important result, which testifies to the solidity of the Italian chain of glass recycling and confirms us on the European podium – said Marcovecchio -. But such an important result must not be a point of arrival. The next challenge is to further improve the quality of the collection: we must make sure that the glass collected by citizens arrives at the plants with the least possible quantity of foreign materials and can be transformed with the maximum efficiency in new raw material for the glass industry. The new European framework offers us a further opportunity to strengthen the chain and enhance the role of recycling in the path towards an increasingly circular economy. To do so will be fundamental the contribution of all, from the Municipalities to the managers, from the plants to the glasshouses, to the citizens”, he concluded.
