ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, signed in Abu Dhabi with the Minister of Foreign Investment, Mohamed Hassan Al Suwaidi, a memorandum of understanding to promote reciprocal investments in industry and manufacturing and new partnerships between the companies of the two countries. The signing took place in Investopia, the international forum that brings together governments, investors and businesses to develop opportunities for economic cooperation.
“The friendship between Italy and the United Arab Emirates finds in this understanding a new industrial perspective. We work together to give security and perspective to our industries, promoting reciprocal investments and collaborating on new technologies and skills. A commitment that will contribute to Italian and European strategic autonomy, through closer cooperation with those who share our objectives of development and innovation,” said Urso.
The agreement aims to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation through joint ventures, strategic alliances and co-investments. At the centre, the development and modernization of industrial plants, technological transfer, research and the adoption of advanced production technologies.
The Memorandum also encourages joint investment in startups and innovative enterprises in the fields of artificial intelligence, robotics, biotechnology, life science and fintech. The collaboration will also extend to the strengthening of supply chains, energy efficiency, circular economy and the formation of industrial and technical skills, with the aim of increasing the competitiveness of productions and their export potential. The agreement will last five years, with automatic renewal for another five years.
For its implementation, the two ministries will designate within thirty days the respective referents, who can agree on a joint work plan. The memorandum adds to the agreements already signed by Minister Urso in the pharmaceutical, mining and digital infrastructure sectors. During the event, in the presence of Giovanni Bozzetti, president of Fondazione Fiera Milano, the next edition of Investopia Italia will be held in Milan on April 9, 2027.
