In July 2026 the eurozone inflation rate rose to 2.9%

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – In July 2026, the annual inflation rate in the euro area stood at 2.9 %, rising from 2.8% in June. A year earlier, the rate was 2.0%.

In July 2026, the annual inflation rate in the European Union was 3.0%, up from 2.9% in June. A year earlier, the rate was 2.4%. Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Union.

The lowest annual rates were recorded in Sweden (0.3%), Czech Republic (1.3%), Denmark and Hungary (1.6%). The highest annual rates were recorded in Romania (8.2%), Lithuania (5.4%), Cyprus and Bulgaria (both 4.4%).

Compared to June 2026, annual inflation declined in fifteen Member States, it remained stable in three and increased in nine. In July 2026, services (+1.55 percentage points, pp), energy (+0.94 percentage points, pp), non-energy industrial goods (+0.23 percentage points, pp) and food, alcohol and tobacco (+0.23 percentage points, pp) contributed positively to the annual inflation rate of the euro area.
