New generation plants are not only places dedicated to matches, but multifunctional infrastructures able to generate revenues throughout the year and contribute to the economic development of the territories. The study “New stadiums and Euro 2032: when infrastructure and big events become value”, realized by the Observatory on the Sport System of Banca Ifis, also highlights how 52% of Italians actively pursue football and as almost a quarter of those who do not attend stadiums would be willing to do so in the presence of modern facilities, accessible and able to offer an experience that goes beyond the ninety minutes of play. The urgency of the issue increases by looking at Euro 2032. Italy will host 26 matches of the competition, with over 1,1 million expected viewers and an estimated economic impact in 4,6 billion euros. A perspective that makes the completion of infrastructure projects even more crucial in the time required by UEFA.
