BRUSSELS (BELGIUM) (ITALPRESS) – The annual rate of inflation in the euro area is estimated at 2.9% in July, rising from 2.8% in June. This is what emerges from the preliminary estimate issued by Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Union. Among the main components, energy should record the highest annual rate of 10%, acceleration compared to 8.5% in June. Services follow, 3.3% from previous 3.2%, food, alcohol and tobacco, 1.2% against 1.5% of June, and non-energy industrial goods, 0.9% from 0.7%. The underlying inflation, calculated excluding energy, food, alcohol and tobacco, is estimated at 2.5%, rising compared to 2.4% of the previous month. On a monthly basis, the overall index of harmonized consumer prices should increase by 0.2%.
