ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “The question of the Democratic Party is based on an incorrect assumption. It would be enough to follow carefully the hearings of the Chief of Staff of Defense and the Covi commander in front of the Chamber and Senate Defense Committees, or read carefully the Missions Decree and its boards, to verify that the regulatory and operational framework has been illustrated with maximum transparency. The information requested today was already public and available. So much so that it is enough for a journalist to consult the institutional site of Defense to correctly reconstruct how some opposition representatives claim not to know.” So the Minister of Defense, Guido Crosetto, on the alleged sending of Italian soldiers to Saudi Arabia, the subject of a question submitted by the Democratic Party.
“The parliamentary commissions – he adds – represent the place of confrontation and deepening. If they are mainly used to fuel controversy, rather than to listen, study the acts and deepen the content, the risk is to present questions based on incorrect assumptions. I remain of course available, as always, to provide any further clarification, in the conviction that on such delicate themes the comparison should take place on the basis of facts and not of reconstructions,” concludes Crosetto.
