Urso “We release companies from Green Deal, in September other package shocks of simplifications”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “The Italian GDP grew in the first part of the year more than the EU average and much more than Germany. Industrial production is in recovery: we have had seven positive months in the last twelve”. The Minister of Enterprise and Made in Italy Adolfo Urso said this in an interview with La Stampa, stating that the country’s growth is stopping its race and outlining the next steps to support companies. In order to cope with an international situation which remains complex, the minister points out three urgent steps to be taken immediately. “The first is to free companies from the Green Deal’s regulatory ballast. We call on the Commission to ensure that the reforms are implemented as soon as possible,” said Urso in the interview, then stressing energy costs as the second key point: “The second is structural intervention on energy costs. The production from renewable sources has increased in these three years of 40 percent, but we must remove the resistances of some regions and start the production of next generation nuclear energy”. The third director concerns investment in innovation, where the government intends to move on several fronts. “With Transition 5.0, there are ten billion more for industry. If other resources are needed, we will add them with the Budget Act.”.

Compared to requests from the territory to extend the tax concessions of the Zes (special economic zones) also to the northern regions, the minister has clarified the limit imposed by European standards, but indicating an alternative way based on bureaucratic simplifications. “The first is to extend to all the Centre-North as already foreseen in the Zls areas, so as to create a unique and homogeneous Zls throughout the territory, with regard to procedures for administrative simplification and, where there were budgetary availability, also some economic incentives, always in compliance with European rules.” The most important news for the enterprises will arrive immediately after the summer break with an ad hoc measure. “I will take the corporate decree in September with another ‘shock package’ of simplifications, especially on the energy production front.” The Minister announced it in La Stampa, explaining that the objective is to define in agreement with the Regions the so-called “industrial acceleration areas”.

Urso finally secured the hold of the executive led by Giorgia Meloni, excluding the hypothesis of early elections and claiming Italian political stability regarding the rest of the continent. “Only this government is in a position to face the European crisis, also because social-democratic formulas are in crisis everywhere in Europe. The left has no answers, neither in Italy nor elsewhere.”.
