Meloni and Macron on 25 June in Antibes for their first bilateral summit

PARIGI (FRANCIA) (ITALPRESS) – French President Emmanuel Macron will host Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni on 25 June in Antibes for their first bilateral summit. The Elysée says that talks will focus on “different strategic sectors” including defence, space, energy and infrastructure. According to the French issuer Bfmtv, it will be their first summit since the President of the Italian Council settled in 2022, and also the first Franco-Italian summit since the entry into force in 2021 of the Quirinale Treaty, which regulates bilateral relations.

The meeting will bring together “nine ministers of both parties”, the Elysée still points out, and will also give rise to “a Franco-Italian economic forum” in the nearby Le Cannet, as well as a ministerial visit to the headquarters of Thales Alenia Space, a French-Italian company, in Cannes. “The two leaders will also exchange views on the main European and international issues and discuss ways to strengthen the links between French and Italian civil society, particularly through young people and culture,” the French Presidency continued.
