Meloni meets South Korean President Lee Jae Myung “Impegno per Indopacifico e Hormuz”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The President of the Council, Giorgia Meloni, received at Villa Pamphili the President of the Republic of Korea, Lee Jae Myung, as part of his visit of State in Italy. “The meeting, which follows the mission to Seoul of President Meloni on 19 January last, allowed to elevate relations between Italy and Korea to the level of Special Strategic Partner and to adopt an Action Plan 2026-2030 to intensify bilateral collaboration in political, economic, scientific and technological, cultural and in the field of security and defence – reads in a note of Palazzo Chigi -. President Meloni and President Lee also discussed the deepening of collaboration in semiconductors and industrial cooperation, particularly in high-tech sectors, such as artificial intelligence, space, automotive and energy. The two Leaders finally had an exchange of views on the main international dossiers, reaffirming the common commitment to the stability and prosperity of the Indopacific and the shared intention to contribute to the ongoing efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz”.

At the end of the meeting, four agreements were signed in the field of development cooperation, sciences, advanced technologies and information and communication technologies, collaboration in the field of social and solidarity economics and in the micro, small and medium-sized enterprises.
