Xenia, Ranieri “We enter a phase of consolidation”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Xenia Hotellerie Solution Spa, listed in Piazza Affari, has completed approximately 80% of the industrial plan presented to the market in 2025, in advance on the expected times. The managing director Ercolino Ranieri explained this in an interview with Claudio Brachino for Italpress Economy. The group operates on two fronts: that of the offer, through the hotel brand Phi Hotels, that counts today 19 structures in Italy, and that of the question, with two divisions of tour operating dedicated respectively to the corporate and leisure segment. “We take two areas, that of the demand and that of the offer: on the one hand we sell rooms, on the other we help who the rooms must buy them,” said Ranieri. The growth focused on the so-called “Tier 2” destinations, with a strong potential but still not fully expressed, and the acquisition of verticals in the area of travel experiences. Realized the industrial platform, the company now enters a phase of consolidation and repositioning of brands, called to distinguish the hotel offer – centered on relational and not mass hospitality – from the organizational one linked to experiences. To accompany this passage, Xenia was entrusted to two advisors. On the strategic front was chosen OC&C: “We need to reorganize our set of activities by building synergies that the scale at this moment allows us to do,” said Ranieri. On the financial front the assignment went to RNS, called to build the economic-financial path of the new configuration: for a listed company, Ranieri explained, it is essential to tell the market not only the objectives but also the tools to reach them. The Ad then addressed the theme of technology, recalling that “the tourism sector has already gone through deep digital transformations, from online booking platforms to review systems, to search metamotors”. Artificial intelligence, in its opinion, now represents “a qualitative leap especially for back office activities”, so far only mechanized, with the possibility to analyze in depth the trends and preferences of the guests, really making the information “informative”. Looking to the future, the managing director previews two years challenging, with the aim to continue to grow for hotel acquisitions and to strengthen the two pillars of the tour operating, but devoting more attention to the construction of recognizable brands, able to communicate a promise consistent with the corporate claim “Hospitality company”. In this context, the rationalization of hotel brands, distinguished between urban and seaside structures, and the development of the Explore brand, dedicated to experiences. Regarding the still inexpressed potential of Italian tourism, according to Ranieri the flows remain concentrated on a reduced share of the national territory, “while the demand for travellers who want to live the territories more than to cross them”, offering margins of development for the many economic and food and wine excellences of the Italian provinces.
