ROMA (ITALPRESS) – UniCredit Foundation launched four new scholarships, scholarships and academic awards, further strengthening its commitment to support talented students and researchers in the fields of economics and finance.
“With a total investment of over € 1.9 million, the four initiatives will offer new opportunities to students, researchers at the beginning of academic career and university institutions, confirming the active role of the Foundation in promoting academic excellence and high-quality research across Europe,” reads in a note.
The four initiatives include: PhD Scholarships in Economics 2026 in memory of Marco Fanno, Giovanna Crivelli and Fabrizio Saccomanni, dedicated to students enrolled at universities of recognized international prestige; Top-Up Fanno & Foscolo Fellowships 2026, in support of universities and research institutes in attracting and retaining researchers of excellence in the early stages of the career through competitive pay packages internationally; Modigliani Research Grant 2026, dedicated to promising young researchers in the fields of economics and finance employed at European universities; 13° Economic Job Market Best Paper Award, organized in collaboration with the European Economic Association, to award the best research presented by young economists looking at the international academic market.

The 17th edition of the Modigliani Research Grant and the 13th edition of the Economic Job Market Best Paper Award, together with scholarships dedicated to Marco Fanno, Giovanna Crivelli and Fabrizio Saccomanni, demonstrate its constant commitment to enhancing talent and promoting economic research in Europe.

The applications for 10 PhD Scholarships in Economics in memory of Marco Fanno, Giovanna Crivelli and Fabrizio Saccomanni (expiry of applications: 2 November 2026); 7 Top-Up Fanno & Foscolo Fellowships for university departments and research institutes in the countries in which the UniCredit Group operates (expiry: 30 October 2026); 4 Modigliani Research Grants aimed at researchers of excellence.
