Ukraine, Tajani “A fundamental Europe for peace. Kiev look to all countries, not to individual initiatives or groupings”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “Europe must be fundamental in talks to reach peace in Ukraine, but also to ensure the security of Kiev and the same continent”. So the vice-premier and foreign minister, Antonio Tajani, in an interview with “La Stampa”. Tajani reiterates that “we need to arrive at a just peace between Ukraine and the Russian Federation”. And adds: “We know that the aggressor is Russia, but we are not at war with Russia.”.

Then emphasizes Italy’s commitment: “We will do everything that is possible to facilitate ceasefire and then peace. Europe can do a lot, because without Europe we do not get to peace as the EU has inflicted a series of sanctions on the Russian Federation.” And adds: “But I believe that Zelensky must also look not so much at the individual European nations, but at all EU states.”.

According to Tajani “there are no individual initiatives or groupings” and on the contrary “serves that all the countries of the European Union are engaged because it gives more strength to the whole of Europe if you work together”. “It is good to involve all countries starting with the larger ones,” he said, “not only France and Germany, but also Italy and Poland.”.
