Tajani “The rulers of Afd are enemies of Italy, we different from the League”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “I want to tell anyone in our country who cultivates sovereign dreams: the German ruler is the worst enemy of Italy. I remember that at the time of the euro crisis, Alternative fur Deutschland was born precisely to have a hard line towards the countries of the South and in particular Italy”. Antonio Tajani said this in an interview with Corriere della Sera, defining the recent electoral statement of AfD in Saxony and Thuringia as a “very good news” because “it is an antithetical force to the liberal and western values in which Forza Italia is recognized.”.

The blue secretary excludes any parallelism within the majority, clearly marking the political distances from the ally leghista: “We and the League are two different parties. Forza Italia is a Christian, liberal, reformist, guarantor, Europeanist and Atlantest party. I do not share what the League says on these issues, as I do not share what AfD says or the Rassemblement national says, which also have different positions.”.

On the stability of the executive, however, Tajani reassures: “What matters is the government’s line on these issues. The President of the Council is certainly not anti-European and anti-Atlantic. If so, we wouldn’t be in the government.”.
