CAIRO (EGYPT) (ITALPRESS) – “We will have to face more and more, with Egypt, the issue of immigration, so that today we sign an agreement, I will sign it with the Foreign Minister, to ensure that collaboration between our countries can guarantee less and less irregular migrants, and, instead, a growing number of regular migrants who can be employed in our companies through a due training.” Antonio Tajani said this when he arrived in Cairo.
In the last 6 months Italian exports to Egypt increased by 17%, “so it is an important part of our strategy, part of the Mattei plan,” said Tajani in Cairo, where a business forum is scheduled today. Hundreds of companies will be present at the forum, with over a thousand bilateral meetings. “This means that our action in favor of export growth, with the aim of reaching 700 billion by the end of next year, gives good results,” said Tajani. Today the minister is in Egypt with the Minister of the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, and the Minister of Labour and Social Policies, Marina Calderone.
On the agenda is a meeting with the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, and with the Foreign Minister, Badr Abdelatty. There is also a meeting of the Italian-Egyptian Joint Commission and a Business Forum with Italian and Egyptian companies. Tajani has also announced an agreement “to ensure that collaboration between our countries can ensure less and less irregular migrants, and, instead, a growing number of regular migrants who can be employed in our companies through due training”.
