The Summer Fancy Food Show 2026, the largest trade fair in North America dedicated to the specialty food and beverage sector, opens its doors from 28 to 30 June at the Javits Center in New York. Italy is an absolute protagonist with the participation of more than 300 companies, consolidating a leading role in an event that is constantly growing due to commercial impact and quality of exhibitors.
To emphasize the strategic value of the appointment and the centrality of the American metropolis as a global hub for the sector is precisely the leadership of the event.
Bill Lynch, President, Specialty Food Association, said that
The Summer Fancy Food Show is the most authoritative meeting point between industry, distribution, innovation and food culture at international level. New York has a unique ability to attract buyers, importers, distributors, media and professionals from all over the world, making the event extremely dynamic and concrete from a commercial point of view. Made in Italy is an extraordinary platform: American operators continue to recognize Italy with authenticity, quality, tradition and innovation, and this makes the Italian Pavilion one of the main protagonists of the event.
The Italian Pavilion imposes itself as the largest international presence of the whole fair, an area entirely dedicated to excellence in the most representative sectors of Made in Italy: pasta, preserves, cured meats, cheeses, extra virgin olive oil, vinegar, bakery, desserts, sauces, gourmet specialties and beverage. In this scenario, the action of the country system is decisive to support enterprises in the face of current global economic dynamics, while celebrating a prestigious international recognition.
Also this year Italy will be present with over 300 companies at the 70th edition of the Summer Fancy Food. It is one of the most important appointments for ICE and Italian companies in the food industry. Italy remains firmly in the first place among European exporters and occupies the third absolute position among suppliers countries, despite the particular historical moment that sees a slowdown in US imports from Italy. The main categories of Italian agri-food products imported in the USA – wine, olive oil, sauces and vegetable preserves, water and cheese – represent almost two-thirds of the total value of imports of the agri-food sector. Italy maintains its first place as a supplier of cheese, water, pasta, vinegar and ice cream, while it is placed second for oil and wine. Italian companies face the challenge of the times by continuing to invest in the US market, teaming up with ICE Agency and the organizers of the fair, confirming the interest in a market that has become fundamental over the years. ICE Agency celebrates together with Italian companies the UNESCO recognition of Italian cuisine as an intangible heritage of humanity and the excellence of Italian products, always appreciated in the American market.
He said Erica Di Giovancarlo, Director ICE New York and Coordinator ICE Network Agency in the USA.
The cohesion of the Italian delegation in New York is also based on a massive and significant territorial participation. There are many regions present, including Calabria, Campania, Sicily, Lazio (Arsial), Puglia (Unioncamere), Piedmont, Marche, Liguria and Sardinia, alongside agencies and strategic consortia such as Anicav, Consorzio Edamus, IDM Südtirol, Tradizione Italiana and the University of Gastronomic Sciences of Pollenzo. A dismantling of forces coordinated on the institutional level thanks to the networking spaces of the ICE Lounge, and supported operationally to ensure maximum commercial return to enterprises.
For Donato Cinelli, President, Universal Marketing, exclusive agent for Italy of the Specialty Food Association:
Accompanying Italian companies at the Summer Fancy Food Show means working on a path that goes well beyond trade fair participation. In recent years we have built a system of services, relationships and operational support that allows exhibitors to arrive in New York in the best possible conditions, focusing on business and market opportunities. We fully know both the needs of Italian companies and the dynamics of the American market. Our goal is that each company perceives the Italian Pavilion not as an exhibition space, but as a real platform of valorization of Made in Italy in the United States.
