Security, Brothers of Italy presents the ddl “Never more delinquent compensation from the victims”

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “Brothers of Italy is proud that the government has adopted a proposal that we have long supported: those who choose to commit a crime and puts life in danger or the safety of others cannot claim to be compensated by those who defended themselves. It is a standard of common sense that strengthens a clear principle: the state is on the part of the perbene people and the victims, not the criminals. The measure moves in full compliance with constitutional principles and provides greater certainty in the application of the discipline on legitimate defence. It is a further step forward in the security policy that the Brothers of Italy carries out consistently.” Thus Galeazzo Bignami, head of the Chamber of Brothers of Italy at the press conference for the presentation of the new bill (DDL) entitled “Never more delinquent compensation from the victims”.

“With this bill we want to put a limit on the interpretations of the norms, too often questionable, to make sure that it becomes clear a concept: those who suffer harm while performing serious crimes have no right to be compensated. It is a matter of justice and common sense. The ‘mestiere’ of the robber and of the one who uses violence against others, can not be considered a job, so if the right of compensation for damages suffered during his work cannot be for those who suffer them while delinquent”, adds Lucio Malan, group leader of Brothers of Italy to the Senate.

“We had already foreseen this requirement on compensation, then obviously with the DL Security we have come to make a battle of the whole government. We keep specifying that this is an extra rule than legitimate defense. It is a principle that applies regardless: if you are a victim you do not have to compensate for your aggressor, it makes no sense that you should be twice, the aggressor before and the law then”, explains Giovanni Donzelli, head of the organization department of Brothers of Italy.

“With this measure we go to heal that short legal circuit that sees the paradox for which the victim is forced to compensate his aggressors. This bill was born from afar, deposited two years ago in the Senate by Brothers of Italy, and not on the wave of chronicles. Those who think that you can continue to delinquete and ask for compensation if then the victims react, you are mistaken. It is a proposal of absolute common sense: we can no longer allow this short legal circuit, we expect the left to share a proposal that is made to protect people for good”, says Francesco Filini, Member of Brothers of Italy to the Chamber and responsible for the party program.

“There is not only the case of Mario Roggero, there are many less known and all absurd and we cannot allow these absurdities to continue. The spirit of this initiative is to insert an automatism that prevents interpretations of the norm and introducing a principle of ‘buonsensus’ that protects them, at least from this point of view, the true victims. Already today there is the hypothesis that there is no compensation for self-defense, but subsequent evaluations have led the victims to pay. The introduction of an automatism foreseen by the ddl, serves to prevent this from happening,” concludes Marco Lisei, Senator of Brothers of Italy.
