Russian “Train of oppositions on preferences ended in nothing”

MILAN (ITALPRESS) – “The introduction of preferences is an opportunity won, after so many decades there are: I have respected as President of the Senate as I promised, making compliance with the regulation without looking to those who needed it. There was the right to have sub-emendaments and I gave them.” So the president of the Senate, Ignazio La Russo, to “Il tempo delle donne” in Milan.

“I don’t know where the narrative came from that Brother of Italy had doubt whether to vote or not. I have not seen a single statement from any party member who would like to vote for the PD amendment. We had already voted in the House a non-EU amendment and the Pd did not vote it, indeed applauded when the switch on preferences was rejected. So – he added – it is of all evidence that yesterday’s was an attempt, legitimate in politics but discovered, to put in difficulty the coalition of center-right and not to introduce preferences. In these decades when they ruled, they never introduced them, now they did not vote in the House and made an amendment not to pass, but to put the centreright in difficulty. Their reasoning was: if Meloni happens to fall into the trap and vote it, his allies rebel and vote immediately, so no preference. If, instead, Meloni, and therefore FdI, holds faith to the pact with the coalition to make leaders more preferences, then we can shout that he changed his mind. So it was a tranello attempt ended in nothing,” he concluded.
