ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The 23rd edition of the Mef-Istat survey on the purchase prices of public administrations confirms the effectiveness of the PA purchase rationalization program in generating significant spending savings and greater efficiency in the use of public resources.
The survey, referring to the purchases made in 2024 and carried out on a representative sample of 1,374 central and local administrations, highlights how the purchases made through the conventions and framework agreements made available by the Ministry of Economy and Finance through Consip are, in almost all cases analyzed, more convenient than the purchases negotiated independently by the individual administrations.
Among the most significant results are purchase price reductions up to 46.9% for laptops; 42.3% for printers; 41.5% for desktop computers. Saves that allow administrations to free resources to be allocated to services and investments for citizens.
The PA electronic market (MePA) also continues to be an effective tool to obtain advantageous purchasing conditions, thanks to the opportunities offered by digital trading and the increasing participation of economic operators. Positive results also for the dynamic system of purchase of PA (SDAPA), through which average price reductions for different categories of foodstuffs, including dairy products (-9.9%), fresh fruit and vegetables (-5%), oil and salt (-1.9%) and eggs (-1.2%).
The survey therefore confirms the strategic role of the e-procurement instruments of the MEF and Consip in promoting more efficient management of public expenditure, ensuring transparency, competitiveness and concrete savings for administrations. The data show once again how the centralization and digitization of public purchases represent the key factors to improving the efficiency of the administrative machine and enhancing every euro of public spending.
