However, there is no shortage, indeed, in the Church and in the world there are many initiatives and experiences that recall respect for human dignity, justice, law, simply human. This is a reason for hope, because it attests the beauty of God’s work, which created us in his image and likeness, as a sign of his glory in the world. When this sign is wounded, we are all wounded. When he’s corrupt, we all suffer. When he’s killed, we all feel torn. Therefore war is never worthy of man, and is never blessed by God, because the Creator has endowed us with intelligence and will to resolve conflicts from human beings and not from beasts, perhaps equipped with hyper-technological weapons.” Pope Leo XIV said this during the homily on the occasion of the Extraordinary Consistory in the Vatican with the cardinals gathered.
