ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “Remigration? I repeat what I said to the Canary Islands about respect for the person: many times we do not recognize the reasons why these people have to go away from their countries, violence, war, conflicts… Simply say ‘we send them away’, washing our hands, as if it was not our problem, it does not seem to me the most Christian answer”. Pope Leo said this by talking to journalists in Castel Gandolfo.
On the war in Iran, the Pontiff added: “We must always ask for peace, ask for negotiations: thank God there is this memorandum which seems that they will officially sign on Friday. There will still be several points to decide, but always better do so with dialogue, negotiation. I hope it is indeed a solution, that the war is over, that nuclear weapons are eliminated, and the problems of all peoples can be solved.”.
