Pnrr, Italy receives from the EU Commission the eighth rata of 12.8 billion

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Today Italy has received from the European Commission the payment of the eighth installment of the PNRR, pairs to 12,8 billion euros, following the positive evaluation of 1 December last on the achievement of 32 objectives, of which 16 targets and 16 milestones.

On the same day, Italy also sent to the Commission the request for payment of the ninth and penultimate installment of the National Plan of Resumption and Resilience, also pairs to 12,8 billion euros. The request follows the work of the PNRR Directing Booth of 22 December, during which 50 objectives were met, divided into 34 targets and 16 milestones, including reforms and strategic investments to support the economic and social growth of Italy.

“With the request for payment of the ninth installment, Italy confirms itself as leader in Europe in the implementation of the PNRR, both for the number of objectives achieved and for the amount received, and with the eighth rata rises to 153,2 billion euros, pairs to 79% of the total budget, in front of the European average of 60%. In 2026 the Government, together with the competent institutions, will continue to work with determination to complete the objectives of the tenth and last installment, transforming the most complex plan of Europe into concrete results for citizens, businesses, economics and for the international credibility of the Nation”, says the President of the Council, Giorgia Meloni.

The delivery of the ninth rata will take place, as usual, following the European evaluation process, aimed at verifying the achievement of the milestones and targets.

“We are in the last mile of the implementation of the PNRR – says the Minister for European Affairs, the PNRR and the cohesion policies, Tommaso Foti – while remaining that the decisive drive for the growth of the Nation will arrive even after the last rata, allowing the Plan to continue to produce concrete benefits and to represent a virtuous model also in the planning of new cohesion policies. The year that is about to end has been full of significant results achieved in constructive collaboration with the European Commission, connected with the alignment of the Italian PNRR to the new geoeconomic context, the payment of the seventh and eighth rata that took place today, as well as the achievement of the objectives of the ninth rata that, in the coming months, will bring to 166 billion euros the amount received from Italy”.

Among the objectives of the ninth installment: the implementation of the Electronic Health Paper for 85% of basic doctors and telemedicine for 300,000 people, as well as the modernization of the technological and digital hospital park for 280 health facilities. Moreover, of particular importance, the strengthening of the high-speed railway lines along the routes Naples – Bari and Palermo – Catania, the reduction of water losses with the districtization of 45,000 networks, the renewal of the fleet of the National Corps of Fire Brigades with 3,800 new vehicles, the implementation of the program GOL with the strengthening of 326 Centers for employment, the educational support to 44.000 minors in Mezzogiorno, the digitalization of.

To these are added the strategic investments included in the last revision, including the implementation agreements for the timely activation of the National Network of Connectivity, the Rotative Fund of Contracts of Chain, the Fund for accommodation for university students and the Facility Parco Agri-Solare.

Among the different reforms included in the ninth rata, the adoption of the final report of the Audit Plan for the reduction of payment delays of public administrations, the creation of the Unique Renewable Energy Services and, in the field of active employment policies, the implementation of the GOL programme for 3 million beneficiaries.
