ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The House of the House has given the green light to the bill “Measures of consolidation and development of the agricultural sector”, the so-called “ColtivaItalia”. The text was approved with 150 votes, no votes against and 97 abstentions, expressed by the opposition groups. The measure, linked to the public finance maneuver, will now continue its parliamentary en route to the Senate examination.

“Today the House has approved the Coltivaitalia, the measure to invest a billion more euros in agriculture. Our primary sector in recent years has recorded remarkable results, we are first in Europe for added value in agriculture, we export 74,5 billion euros of agri-food products. These results are achieved by a plan of public investment which is worth EUR 17 billion and thanks to the daily work of our farmers. With Coltivaitalia we invest there where agriculture needs more, to make us less dependent from abroad, and in high potential sectors to make the primary sector even stronger.” Thus the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests Francesco Lollobrigida. “We do the generational replacement and research so that these results are only the starting point to reach new ones. We promised to put back agriculture and food sovereignty at the centre of our policies, we do it with concrete actions working alongside our farmers, farmers and fishermen,” says Lollobrigida.
