STOCCOLMA (SVEZIA) (ITALPRESS) – The Nobel Prize for the Economy 2026 was awarded to Robert E. Hall and Michael Woodford, both American economists, for their studies on the foundations of macroeconomic stabilization. The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences is known. The two economists teach at Stanford University (Hall), and Columbia University (Woodford). “The Nobel Prize winners helped us to reduce the economy’s ups and downs,” explains the Swedish Academy in a note. “They have developed new macroeconomic models that have significantly improved our ability to implement effective stabilization policies. On the basis of these models, timely fiscal and monetary policy measures can reduce the peaks and flexions of the economy”, reads again.
