ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Italian Government expresses satisfaction for the start of the pilot phase of the Joint Operating Room in Tripoli, which is a concrete follow-up to the Istanbul Summit on 1 August 2025. Palazzo Chigi lets know that the Joint Operating Room, operated by the Libyan Authorities, is composed of Libyan officials who join liaison officers of Italy, Qatar and Turkey to support Libyan efforts in the management of illegal migration phenomena, strengthen Libyan research and rescue capabilities and improve the exchange of information. Strengthened cooperation will be achieved in respect of Libyan sovereignty, with the common goal of saving human lives at sea and countering criminal networks engaged in migrant trafficking.
