MILAN (ITALPRESS) – Ten years after the return on the main list of Piazza Affari, today at Palazzo Mezzanotte, Italgas has retraced the stages of growth and transformation that have led it up to the role of European leader in gas distribution. In the presence of President Paolo Ciocca and CEO of Borsa Italiana, Fabrizio Testa, AD Paolo Gallo illustrated the main goals achieved by the Group and unveiled the new visual identity of the Italgas Group.
The numbers offer a snapshot of the value produced by the Group over the past ten years. The title, quoted in November 2016 at the first price of 4,062 euros, has reached a quota greater than double. The capitalization of Borsa has passed from just over 3 to over 9 billion euros.
The shareholders were distributed about 2.5 billion euros of dividends and those who invested in the title at the time of the listing saw their investment almost quadruple.
“Three years ago investors rated a promise – said President Italgas, Paolo Ciocca – Today we can say we have maintained it. Italgas is a system company: who invests in our networks supports the competitiveness of the country and strengthens the creation of value for our shareholders. In these ten years the two goals have always walked together and this is the measure of the success of a strategic infrastructure like ours, able to support the growth of enterprises, communities and territories”.
“The path made by Italgas in recent years is in the results and in the international dimension achieved – said the CEO Italgas, Paolo Gallo – an active group in gas, hydro, energy efficiency and IT, Europe’s first gas operator and global technology benchmark. We arrived with a choice that seemed far from our core business: to make digital and innovation the engines of the network. This is how we created a platform capable of welcoming new technologies, new gases, new business and new markets. Each acquisition has been integrated into this model, with immediate benefits, every commitment made with the market and investors has been achieved by going beyond expectations. We have transformed the growth in value for shareholders and territories and is from this platform, upgraded by the IA generation, which starts the race to the next ten years”.
The Group’s networks serve approximately 13 million customers in Italy and Greece and the path of the next few years is outlined by the Strategic Plan 2026-2032. Overall, 13 billion euros of investments, almost 15 percent more than the previous plan, a RAB expectation of 21,7 billion, an EBITDA of 3,3 billion to 2032 and an increase of profit per share greater than 9 percent annually.
The development levers are the field races for the distribution of gas, biomethane and new gases, artificial intelligence, already operating in the management of the network, processes and in the relationship with the end users. In parallel the international growth continues: in Greece, where the Plan previews a billion euros of investments through Enaon, and in Portugal, where at the beginning of October Italgas has signed the binding agreement to acquire 22.5 percent of Floene, the first operator of the gas distribution of the country, with about 14.000 kilometers of network and 1,1 million customers.
At the end of the event the Company presented the new brand of Italgas. The name remains unchanged. It changes the symbol, which exceeds the unique shape of the flame: it is born from the encounter of three distinct elements, in blue, green and yellow colors, which live in a single sign and can remember leaves, drops, flames, flows. Different forms such as the energy and infrastructure that the Group manages today: gas and water networks, renewable gases, digital technologies. The logotype is also renewed, now in tiny characters, accompanied by a new chromatic and typographical system. The symbol becomes the common sign of the Group’s companies, starting from Italgas Reti. An identity that represents the Group’s ability to manage, connect and evolve different forms of energy and infrastructure, preserving the link with a story begun in Turin in 1837 that, next year, will turn 190 years.
