ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Iren cda has approved the update of the industrial plan to 2035, which confirms the validity of the already initiated strategic path and deepens it further by inserting two growth objectives: operational excellence and strengthening of strategic infrastructure. n continuity with the path started in 2025, the Plan consolidates the transformation of Iren from “extended multiutility” to “focused multiutility”.
The most important focus involves an allocation of the most selective capital, focused on the business cores in which the Group can value its positioning, territorial rooting and industrial skills.
This approach improves the quality of the investment portfolio, strengthens the discipline on returns and reduces exposure to activities in which Iren does not yet have a consolidated competitive advantage.
The ambition at 2035 is to evolve progressively from territorial multiutility focused on infrastructure players of relevance to the country, maintaining proximity to the territories and developing a greater industrial scale. The plan includes a total of 10.4 billion investments in the period 2026-2035, distributed in a balanced way along the entire time span.
Over 80% of the resources are intended for business units with greater infrastructure content, with particular focus on networks, environment and energy. Investments are oriented towards strengthening the strategic infrastructure of the Group, through the modernization of the water service, the development of the electricity distribution, the realization of new thermo-valorizers, the expansion of the district heating and the valorization of the energy assets considered strategic.
The investment portfolio also has a low risk profile, thanks to the fact that 73% of resources are intended for regulated or semi-regulated activities and 55% are reserved for the maintenance and renewal of existing assets, while the remaining 45% support the growth and development of the Group’s basic asset.
More than 73% of total investment, equal to 7.6 billion, is intended for projects to support sustainability and transition and 62% is eligible for European taxonomy. The Group confirms its commitment to maintaining a balanced financial structure and consistent with current rating levels. The expected growth will be sustained by strict financial discipline. Cnfermata the dividend policy communicated last year with a dividend in increase of +8% up to 2027 and +6% from 2028 to 2030.
“With the industrial plan of 2035 we confirm our ability to combine industrial ambition, sustainable growth and financial discipline by contributing to the development of strategic infrastructure in the country.” Thus Luca Dal Fabbro, executive chairman of the Iren Group. “The planned investments will support a growth of the Ebitda up to about 1,95 billion to 2035, further strengthening the weight of regulated and semi-regulated activities that will reach 80%. The whole – he added – maintaining a solid financial discipline, with a ratio Ifn/Ebitda in progressive reduction up to 2.8x at the end of the Plan, in full respect of the thresholds fixed for the maintenance of current levels of rating. This financial structure also allows us to confirm the dividend policy, offering our shareholders visibility, stability and sustainable remuneration in the long term,” concluded Dal Fabbro.
