In the first trimester of the 2026 fiscal pressure was pairs to 37.6%, +0.3% regarding last year

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – In the first quarter, according to Istat data, tax pressure was 37.6%, up 0.3 percentage points compared to the same period of the previous year. The disposable income of consumer households increased by 1.6% compared to the previous quarter, while consumption increased by 1.4%.

As a result, the consumer household savings propensity was 8.0%, up 0.2 percentage points compared to the previous quarter. In view of a change of 0.8% of the implied consumption deflater, the purchasing power of households grew compared to the previous quarter of 0.8%.

In the first quarter, according to Istat data, the net debt of public administrations in relation to GDP was -7.8% (-8.4% in the same quarter of 2025). The primary balance of administrations (net debt of liabilities) was negative, with an incidence on GDP of -4.4% (-4.7% in the first quarter of 2025). The current balance of administrations was also negative, with an incidence on GDP of -2,9% (-3.3% in the first quarter of 2025).
