ROMA (ITALPRESS) – In June 2026 inflation falls to +3.0% (from +3.2% of May). Istat detects it. “The slight slowdown in inflation reflects the price dynamics of unworked food (from +5.5% to +4.4%), recreational, cultural and personal care services (from +3.0% to +2.7%) and transport related services (from +1.7% to +1.1%); instead, energy prices are accelerated (from +5.6% to +9.2%) and not regulated (13.5%).
In June the “bottom inflation”, net of fresh energy and food, is slightly reduced (from +1.7% to +1.6%), as well as the net of only energy goods (from +2.1% to +1.9%). They choose on an annual basis both the prices of goods (from +3.4% to +3.3%) and those of the services (from +2.8% to +2.6%). The differential between the service sector and that of goods, therefore, remains negative from -0,6 to -0,7 percentage points. They also choose the prices of food goods, for the care of the house and the person (from +1.9% to +1.3%) and those of high-frequency products (from +4.4% to +3.9%).
The change in the general index, on the one hand, of the decrease in the prices of unworked food (-1.5%) and, on the other, of the increase of those of recreational, cultural services, and for the care of the person (+0.6%) and of the Services relating to the transport (+0.5%). The inflation acquired for 2026 is +2.6% for the general index and +1.7% for the underlying component.
