ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The first estimates of Eurostat on the euro area balance showed a surplus of 14.2 billion euros in trade of goods with the rest of the world in July 2026, compared to a surplus of 10.7 billion euros in July 2025. In July 2026, exports of euro area goods to the rest of the world amounted to 276,0 billion euros, an increase of 9.0% compared to July 2025 (253 billion euros).
Imports from the rest of the world amounted to 261,8 billion euros, with an increase of 7.9% compared to July 2025 (242,6 billion euros). In July 2026, the euro area recorded a trade surplus of €14.2 billion, increasing compared to €7.2 billion in June 2026. Compared to July 2025, when the surplus stood at 10.7 billion euros, an improvement of 3.5 billion euros was recorded. The increase was mainly determined by a greater surplus in chemicals and related products, other manufacturing goods and food and beverages, partially offset by a decrease in surplus in machinery and vehicles.
In January-July 2026, the euro area recorded a surplus of EUR 17.0 billion, compared to EUR 92.8 billion in January-July 2025. Exports of euro area goods to the rest of the world increased to 1.763.6 billion euros (an increase of 1.2% compared to the January-July 2025 period), while imports increased to 1.746.6 billion euros (an increase of 5.8% compared to the same period). Trade within the euro area increased to EUR 1.654 billion in the period January-July 2026, an increase of 5% compared to the same period of 2025.
